Step By Step Personal Linens
To begin your journey on bespoke linens from Heirlooms Linens we recommend following the process to assist you choosing your luxury linens. To help you, see below our guide to making the perfect choice with the guidance of our experienced team.
Step 1 - Choosing Your Fabric
Working with several carefully selected weave mills Heirlooms have the capability to bring a variety of fabrics together to create the perfect choice in bespoke linens. Our fabrics can be broken down into the following areas;
The Weave – The Sateen weave uses threads that are mercerised to create a smooth finish with a soft sheen on the woven fabric. The Percale weave’s threads are not usually mercerised, creating a cool crisp fabric with a matte finish.
Thread Count – Measured by counting the number of threads contained in 1 square inch including the warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal thread). The higher the thread count the higher number of threads per square inch and the finer the weave.
Step 2 - Choosing Your Style
Heirlooms have an exciting abundance of styles of bed linen available. Clients can build on their linen designs by applying contrast borders, inset borders, piping or embroidery. Once a style has been chosen, you can choose to use a jacquard fabric as the main body of the linens or the fabric can be applied as a contrast or inset border.
The options are excitingly limitless.
Step 3 - Deciding On Colours
Once the style has been chosen it’s time to choose colours that will compliment the interior design. It’s important to understand that each fabric quality has it’s own palette of colours. We usually recommend the 300tc cotton sateen or the 200tc cotton percale as accents on your linens, such as a contrast border, as they are fabrics with the most colour options available.
We know how important it is to get the right colour to compliment your current bedroom design scheme. Therefore, we can provide fabric samples and colour charts to help you make confident decisions.
Step 4 - Embellishing Your Linens
As a brand, we are also committed to thoughtfulness. For truly unique linens we can add a personal touch by embroidering your initials, monogram or an entirely bespoke embroidery inspired by features of the room or residence. Personalised linens also make for the perfect gift for a loved one. We also offer satin piping, to compliment our sateen fabrics and cotton piping to compliment our percale fabrics to add a subtle but interesting detail.
Step 5 - Finalising Your Choices
After discussing your choices we can provide digitized drawings of your bed linen designs. At this stage we can easily make amendments or provide guidance and options. Our passion for the perfect look means we also provide A4 samples, at request, of the corner of your pillowcase design. This is the perfect opportunity to see your vision. Samples will be made upon confirmation of the budget and final approval based on design and colours.
